as you suggested I discovered that maildrop were not compiled with ldap
support:

ldd /usr/bin/maildrop |grep ldap

gave no results

So I did as you told: I modified the spec file in configure section

I have been luky: it compiled without problems. Now the output of
     ldd /usr/bin/maildrop |grep ldap
is
     libldap-2.2.so.7
> Have you edited /usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/maildrop-ldap.conf to reflect
Yes, here it is:

     hostname                      localhost
     basedn                           o=ispman
     binddn                            cn=Directory Administrator,o=ispman
     bindpw                           mysecret
     filter
&(&(objectclass=ispmanDomainUser))
     timeout                            5
     search_method             mail
     mail_attr                          mailLocalAddress
     uid_attr                            uid
     uidnumber_attr             uidNumber
     gidnumber_attr             gidNumber
     maildir_attr                     maildir
     homedirectory_attr      homeDirectory
     quota_attr                       mailQuota

I did it, but without changing the situation:
the content of maillog remains the same:

virgilio postfix/qmgr[6524]: 483C113B19: from=<[email protected]>,
size=374, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
virgilio postfix/pipe[6530]: 483C113B19:
to=<atestoni_azienda3_it-gH+WsCr1+wQDEN4ujrZYptvLeJWuRmrY@public.gmane.org>,
orig=<[email protected]>, relay=maildrop, delay=16, status=bounced (user
unknown. Command output: invalid user specified)

Is it right the rewrite did by the server? The recipient is
[email protected], but it appears to be rewrited to
atestoni_azienda3_it-gH+WsCr1+wQDEN4ujrZYptvLeJWuRmrY@public.gmane.org

Thanks Again Jim
