Hi ALL Users are reporting repeated user/pass requests resulting in failures when they try to access their emails using a verity of mail clients. Eventualy they will be able to login but it takes few minutes for them to do so. The setup is as follows: Box A :RH9: Perdition + POSTFIX + replicated LDAP openldap-2.0.27-8 perdition-0.1.10-1 Box B: RH9: Perdition + Cyrus-imaps db4-4.0.14-20 cyrus-imapd-2.1.15-1 There are about 600 users on box B. ANd both server have been in operation for about a year. When client experiences the repeated requests for authentication, the logs on box A show entries like : Box A logs: Jun 7 00:34:25 mx1 perdition[1018]: Auth: 1.2.3.4->1.2.2.3 user="user_client_dom" server="im01.domain.net" port="1110" status="failed: authentication of client with real-server" Further searching on box B shows things like: Box B logs: I noticed Jun 8 03:28:41 im01 lmtpd[8922]: DBERROR db4: 9 lockers Jun 8 03:28:42 im01 lmtpd[8931]: DBERROR db4: 9 lockers Jun 8 03:28:42 im01 lmtpd[8907]: DBERROR db4: 8 lockers Jun 8 03:28:43 im01 lmtpd[8937]: DBERROR db4: 7 lockers and immediately aafterwards I started seeing entries like : Jun 8 03:53:09 im01 saslauthd[13555]: pam_ldap: error trying to bind as user "uid=user_client_dom, ou=users, ispmanDomain=client.dom, o=ispman" (Invalid credentials) Jun 8 03:53:09 im01 saslauthd[13555]: AUTHFAIL: user=user_client_dom service=pop realm= [PAM auth error] Jun 8 03:53:09 im01 pop3d[9556]: badlogin: mx1.domain.net[1.2.3.4] plaintext user_client_dom SASL(-13): authentication failure: checkpass failed I suspect a DB4 cause. Now I have few questions: - Has anyone experienced similar issues ? - would an upgrade to DB4 work with the existing DBs of saslauthd and company ? Any ideas or suggestions ?
