Hmm there are a lot of products that have the option to plugin via ldap. For example 
when I want to authenticate django against users from my ldap directory there is a django-ldap product. 
Sure, I could make custom auth code to do this, but with ldap there is normally already something there 
where I can plug into.

Staying with ispman seems to really be a dead end :-(
