Our site is too big

Considering the information we have on our website, it takes up far too much
space.
The whole website at http://jakarta.apache.org/avalon/ takes up 52.8 MB (on
a Windows
PC it takes up 73.5 MB).  It has 7,563 files in 1,793 directories.

I understand that a large portion of this is API docs, but that is an
incredible amount
of cruft we need to restructure.  We need to look at where we keep repeating
ourselves,
and unify as much of the documentation as possible.

Let's try to make the Avalon site enjoyable to view/use.
