AvalonDB, what future? ( was Re: Build Failure - avalon-db )

Now that it has come to our attention, what is the status of it?
What do we want to do with it?

There is another nice DB based on a BSD license called AxionDB 
(http://axion.tigris.org/) and of course there is Hypersonic.

It seems we don't have the time nor the force to continue with it... 
suggestions?
