The avalon-collections API includes

    org.apache.avalon.excalibur.collections.VariableSizeBuffer

This class does not exist in the Common Collection API, however - the 
following appears similar:

    org.apache.commons.collections.UnboundedFifoBuffer

Can anyone confirm if they are equivalent?

Just for reference - I hava local version of the excalibur-pool package 
that is built sucessfull againsat the commons-collection based on the 
replacement of VariableSizeBuffer with UnboundedFifoBuffer.
