Actually your running into something related to a virgin build. With the new magic build this is the first time in years that we have been able to actually build all of avalon in one pass. In the error your getting I'm guess this is some issue in the defaults assumed by magic versus the defaults assumed by merlin. What I suggest is that you accelerate things is: $ cd runtime $ ant This should build ok - in the meantime we can sort out the other problem.
