Actually, when developing in Avalon, I use remote debugging on magic with a ant-debug script, starting ant with the jpda debug arguments (can send it if you want). Works very well and saves you from tweaking eclipse to emulate the full Magic things like classloaders etc. I just mount the stuff that makes my projects of interest compile.
