Hi Enver,

Is it possible that I could get some older BCEL binary from apache which would not have your jdk 1.2 dependencies? Also, if not, then could I get the older source code which was not jdk 1.2 specific, and then I could compile it on my jdk 1.1.8.

Could you please let me know? Thanks a lot.

Regards,
Manjari.

	Hi,

Seems the 5.1 package was not compiled with a 1.1 JDK.
Hm, I doubt that the BCEL package will still compile
under 1.1 since I even checked in some classes of the
verifier GUI that depend on Swing. I believe I also
used collection classes, so the whole verifier should
depend on 1.2, not only the GUI.

However, one could possibly compile all the packages
except the *.verifier.* using a 1.1 compiler.

The error message you get is most probably because
your runtime environment JVM expects *.class files
of version 45.3 (compiled with JRE-1.1 in mind), but
nowadays recent compilers emit 48.0 version *.class
files that can no longer be interpreted by ancient
JREs. For them, one needs to recompile the source.

I wonder if we should still go for 1.1 compatibility
	by the way...

	Greetings,
	Enver
