In which case (as I already wrote) you don't need BSF 3.1.

I repeat: you don't need BSF 3.1 with Java 1.6+.
In fact adding bsf-api-3.1 to the classpath may cause problems.

You do need to ensure that you have the appropriate scripting engine
on the classpath.
