why is <cactifywar> so slow?

Hi all,

When using cactus-1.7 I was getting around 3 min. to complete the
cactifywar task.

Now with 1.7.2 the time is down to around 52 sec. which is better -
but still quite long.

My understanding of the task is that it will add extra libraries need
by cactus, and it will modify the web.xml file to add the redirect
descriptors. Instead I could just build a custom war file that has the
libraries and uses a web.xml file with the descriptors pre-added,
couldn't I? If I do this, it will take around 5 sec. not 50 sec.

Any ideas?
