Introduction - Java engineer looking for a component that needs a consistent contributor

Hello Commons developers,

Brief introduction and an offer of sustained help.

I am a software engineer with 15+ years of experience, primarily Java and
Spring. My day work is systems integration in healthcare, connecting
third-party applications to external EHR systems.

I would like to contribute to Commons on an ongoing basis rather than as a
one-off. I am aware that the most useful thing a new contributor can offer
here is consistency on a component that is not getting enough attention,
rather than scattered patches across many.

So, directly: is there a Commons component that is currently short on
maintainer time and would benefit from someone working through its backlog
steadily. I am comfortable with unglamorous work, including issue triage,
reproducing bug reports, test coverage, and documentation.

If it is easier to point me at a component and let me prove useful before
any further discussion, that works too.
