I unpacked both, but am still getting this:
BUILD FAILED
/home/phil/jmeter/jakarta-jmeter-2.3.2/build.xml:927: 
/home/phil/jmeter/jakarta-jmeter-2.3.2/lib/opt not found.

The build succeeds (other than the test error mentioned in the README) 
if I mkdir opt from the /lib directory.
