Jetspeed-2 and Maven 3

I have been playing with Jetspeed-2 for the past ~week trying to learn how
to use it.  However, I was roadblocked for quite some time in the beginning
because I was using Maven 3 (instead of Maven 2) and it wasn't until I
stumbled upon this mailing list - specifically an entry just shy of a year
old - that let me know I wasn't "doing it wrong." The link for the original

I have omitted the stack trace for brevity as it is merely a duplicate of
the one located at the aforementioned link.

Is there, or will there be, a solution to this beyond downgrading to Maven
2?
