Hi Nick.

Have you tried to run the test without intellij?

Can you share a minimal test case to reproduce this behaviour?

If not, why is the InvokerHelper from groovy involved, when you are 
using JavaRequest sampler?

Are there more information in the jmeter.log file, that you see/can share?
