GitHub user swebb2066 added a comment to the discussion: Next Log4cxx Major release thoughts I suggest formally dropping support for `LOG4CXX_CHAR=unichar` in the next ABI version. Building with `LOG4CXX_CHAR=unichar` has been broken since 1.6 (AsyncBuffer does not compile).
