I needed to adjust 
https://github.com/apache/logging-log4cxx/blob/master/admin/validate-release.sh#L27 
(locally)

FULL_DL="$BASE_DL/$VERSION/$ARCHIVE"

to

FULL_DL="$BASE_DL/$ARCHIVE"

because the files are directly in

https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/logging/log4cxx/

and

https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/logging/log4cxx/1.8.0

is empty.

- signatures valid
- checksums match
- tests successful
