Interesting, that didn't work (because it was printing the exact string
"{${web:servletContextName}" when the servlet name was missing) but using
your approach I got something that works:

%equals{${web:servletContextName}}{${web:servletContextName}}{%pid}

I wonder if a simpler solution exists though.
