Piotr,

Even if getAppender() were to bypass the AppenderWrapper it would still return 
org.apache.logging.log4j.core.appender.FileAppender, not org.apache.log4j.FileAppender. 
Are you proposing that getAppender return a proxy for org.apache.log4j.FileAppender?
