The current `3.0.0-beta3` release contains all the features of a `3.0.0` 
release as far as I am concerned. The only blocker for a `3.0.0-rc.1` or 
even `3.0.0` release is:

* A certain number of PRs that were merged in the `2.x` branch, but not 
into `main`[1].

* Time to prepare releases. Last year Volkan and I contributed to Log4j 
as part of our dayjob, now our dayjobs are not Log4j-related.

Although `3.0.0` GA might not be far, we probably need a couple of 
months to find the time to release it.
