I've downloaded the distribution and tried it and it works for me with
jdk21... What happens if you run this -

export JAVA_HOME="/home/sokolovm/sokolovm/workspace/lucene/jdk-21.0.2"
export PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH
java -version

Does it return Java 21?
