Missing functionality in Perl5Util.substitute( )

Thank you very much for your extremely quick response.

I read the instructions and could not find where to send an email or post a
question, so posted a bug as a last resort. I did a search on the
newsgroups and did not find any newsgroup that had any postings on the
subject. I also tried to figure out the mailing lists thing without
success. It is not at all clear to me what the heck I'm supposed to do. (Since
originally writing this, I think I might have figurred out how to join the
mailing list. I'll find out.)

I tried 1, 2, and 3 escapes without success. I didn't think of 4. Perl
just needs 2. (After writing this I found some documentation which states the
Java strings are quadruple-slashed. I missed this the first time around. I
was naively thinking it should work the same as Perl.)

Thanks again for your help, and sorry to have used the bug system to bypass the
regular channels.
