Newbie question: access files from other servlet.

Hi, I’mstuck in my mind so I try to get some hints.

Slide is working but I do not know how to continue…..

I have a webapplication running as a servlet on Tomcat behind an Apache.

The administrator of the site can upload files with Slide.

Users can be anoymous or logged in on the webbapp.
Now I want the roles in my webbapp to deside what directories are visible 
for different users.

(Yes it’s a simple ACL…)

Is the correct way access files for the with slide/webdav ?
Or should I use something else ?
