In other words: supporting the module system is a non-goal for Tomcat?

I must say I find this astounding. I am working with a project that has about
320 dependencies which all work on the module path. The only violator is
Tomcat.

At least, remove the module-info file and indicate that Tomcat only is meant
for the class path. Any other module that requires the Servlet API will fail
without the Jakarta module and the Jakarta Module will not work with Tomcat
being a module.

Or accept the downsides for the regular distribution and work around them.

The current state helps no one.
