It's been a million years since I did anything with RSS.

It's entirely possible to have a static RSS feed, right? Like, your 
feed-checker can just check for updates on a simple URL and detect changes?

If that's the case, then it will be trivial for us to add a static RSS 
feed to the web site that just appends release information when we 
announce the releases.

Roger, if you can give us a static RSS template, I'll be happy to wire 
it into the release-announcement process.
