Hi,

As it is a new Maven project I would like to release a beta or rc
first .... to allow easy change of an api .... but we can release the
next major next time :-)

Also, starting with two branches 1.x and 2.x can be too complicated ...

I see more work on it,
 - missing milesones https://github.com/apache/maven-executor/milestones
 - how we want to manage documentation for both branches, do we want
https://maven.apache.org/executor-1.x/,
https://maven.apache.org/executor-2.x/ or some other idea ....

We should do some discussion also on ML (not only on slack)

I'm not sure how easy JDK 17 code can be used in JDK 8 plugins or
components even it is for testing time only

However +1 from me - we can and sometime should do an experiments,
thanks Thanks for your involvement
