Add ability to download and attach source bundles from maven repository

I can't find a way to easily attach the sources that appear in the maven repositories.

I want a feature to download and associate sources in Netbeans that is similar to what the other IDE plugins have:

mvn -DdownloadSources=true idea:idea
mvn -DdownloadSources=true eclipse:eclipse

If there is already a way, please explain.  Thank you.
Also, if this hasn't been done yet I am willing to help if someone is willing to give me some pointers on how to do it.
