Unable to install Maven support on NB 6.1 after using NB 6.5

After installing Maven support in NB 6.5 beta and using it for a while I decided to fall back to 6.1 since 6.5 is very unstable. I am now unable to install Maven support for 6.1! The installer complains about allegedly 'newer' Maven Embedder of NB 6.5, which may clash with the 3.1.4 version for NB 6.1. I ended up uninstalling the whole 6.5. version and erasing all known related resources (including NB6.5 installation dir and all config files in my user dir). But it still does not help!! What else do I have to delete, where is this 'newer Maven Embedder' installed, if I removed the whole 6.5. installation?
