All, I've just discovered that I can't connect using jconsole, VisualVM, YourKit, etc. when VelocityViewServlet has been enabled. I never noticed this before because I haven't been using jconsole very much, and I don't think I've tried to profile recently. I have a quick summary of what's going on, including a link to a bug I've filed against Apache Tomcat (because the problem appears to be related to JMX). http://markmail.org/thread/4g6ey2a24z6awxu5 I was able to reduce my entire web application to just VelocityViewServlet with no manually-deployed tools, so everything in this web application is coming from Velocity or Apache Commons. Can anyone confirm that this happens to them, too? Any ideas what might be happening? If anyone has any thoughts about this, I'd really appreciate them. Thanks, -chris
