Sending SMS

Hi

I am doing a project in Java. As a part of the project I needs to send 
an SMS from a Java program or from a JSP or servlets page. How can I 
send an SMS from with in a java program through the network. I am 
behind a firewall. So my machine is connected to the internet through a 
proxy only. What is the API using for achieving this. Can anyone please 
give some code also. Thanking you very much. Any help will be much 
valuable.
