Thanks.  I don't understand java but the basics.  so if I remove or comment 
out -- emailSubject.append(" build "); -- it won't break the file, right?

I will uncomment the other section.  Thanks again :)

Ah. My mistake. The 'newVersion' variable is used down below to construct 
the link to the log file. I'd leave the variable assignment but remove the 
appending to the emailSubject.

....
   emailSubject.append(_buildDef.getProject().getProjectName());
