RE: Allowed characters in dependency group names?

If you are on a *NIX system, remember that "test" and in some cases
"TEST" is a magic word - in other words it is a command. Though that is
probably not your problem, OS interactions most likely are. Especially
if you are spanning different OS types.

Looking at the code, there don't seem to be any explicit limitations.

But the name of the dependency group is converted into a filename and
back in the persistence, so it's possible that characters that are
illegal in file names on your host OS are removed from the filename.
