Thanks for the DefinitionException patch. The previous version was indeed a dirty hack.
Can't believe it survived this long :)

FYI. I've solved the problem by patching the DefinitionException
exception to display the wrapped exception. The reason was that I was
missing the jrexx jar in the CP... Nothing to do with a class pattern
problem or such...
