I am very pleased to forward you this link (if you are not subscribed
to AOSD lists).

Several papers include really accurate and up to date information
about AspectWerkz, both from a feature / semantics perspective and
from an architectural and extensibility perspective.
Especially "Survey of Aspect-Oriented Languages and Execution Models"
and "Survey of Aspect-Oriented Middleware".
You will also find great information about AspectJ and AspectJ 5.

The papers cover a wide range of AOP language or platform, not only Java based.

As a number of you probably already know, a European Network of Excellence
on AOSD (AOSD-Europe) started on 01 September 2004 with funding from the
European Commission. The network aims to integrate research and practice
from nine academic and two industrial partners in Europe with a view to
address AOSD issues on a larger scale. One of the initial tasks of the
network is to undertake detailed surveys of state-of-the-art in AOSD. A
number of these are now available from the Network's Web site:

The following surveys are likely to be of key interest to members of this
list:
- A detailed survey comparing several AO and non-AO approaches for analysis
and design of crosscutting concerns.
- A detailed survey of several aspect-oriented languages and execution
models.
- A detailed survey of several aspect-oriented middleware approaches.

All surveys are public documents and downloadable from the Web site freely.
Further surveys, papers, etc. will be made available from the above URL as
well so please check back (a web portal for the network is being developed
which will go live in a few months in place of the current site).
