Hi Eugene Any links to some sample or doc would be welcome. I am not sure what you are talking about. SpringAOP can match on annotation - hopefully this is what is used for their Java 5 @Transactional attribute. Did the slides let you think the opposite ? You may have been confused between annnotation-defined aspect (use annotations to define Aspect: AspectWerkz (hence AspectJ 5), Jboss), and annotation-driven AOP (match on annotaitons: all) Aside, this is achievable since a while by using the AspectWerkz pointcut grammar and plugin it into Spring : http://blogs.codehaus.org/people/avasseur/archives/000961_spring_pointcut_on_steroids.html Soon, you'll find the same with AspectJ by the way.
