checkstyle-metadata.xml including strings from checkstyle-metadata.properties ?

Hi, I've written a set of custom checks and I would like to outsource some descriptions from my checkstyle-metadata.xml. It looks like it can be done using "%" followed by the name of the property. However I try several configurations without success, the description isn't replaced by the value of the property. How should I organize my packages ? Is there something special to do or to declare in order to use this feature ? Thanks for your help.
