Re: CheckStyle to Eclipse formatter

The formatter definition controls how Eclipse formats your code. The
Checkstyle configuration tells Checkstyle what conventions to look for when
checking your code. You need both, no?

In our case, we went through the Checkstyle options to determine which
checks we wanted and which we didn't, and wrote our Checkstyle configuration
file accordingly. We then wrote an Eclipse formatter definition which
formats code in a manner compliant with the Checkstyle configuration. It was
a manual process.
