I= t would be nice to have several things in Maven: check if the coding standa= rds are applied and if wanted also apply them and reformat automatically. T= here will be many developers who probably do not like another software touc= hing their code but those who don't have a problem with it will not have to= care about formatting anymore. They are imported into Eclipse by means of a couple of XML files. They are applied in coding-time pressing Control + Shift + F or when a file or method is just created. It's really simple. Now, I want to check they are being used from outside the IDE, so the maven-checkstyle-plugin is just perfect. Is there any way to convert code-conventions and formatter XML files for eclipse into checkstyle "compliant" XML files?
