SeverityLevel and Custom Checks

All,

I have two questions here - Both in the end result in updating plug-in 
entries
1. I see the SeverityLevel being quite simply 4 discretes and that the class 
implements a TypeSafe enum pattern.  In our softweare development we 
actually take the "Error" levels slightly more granular, or in other words, 
we have the info, warning, error, and then in addition to that we have sev4, 
sev3, sev2 and sev1 errors.  I can obviously update the class and be good on 
the command line version and this works great for the configuration 
management(we are slowly migrating to Maven), My question is more on the 
Eclipse IDE plug-in side for where I would like to have the same concept for 
each developer using the plug-in, - However I cannot seem to make this work.

2.  Now in the case where we write custom checks, again, i can make it all 
work on the command line no problems. It is when I try to include the new 
checks into the plug-in and add the new xml configuration, I am getting 
several errors.

Any help is greatly appreciated
