Language visualization. I am tracing execution of the code to help 
present and edit it. There are several other research projects here that 
needed to instrument Java code - they did it in various laborious ways. 
Hacking an interpreter is so much easier. If 2.0 gets to the point where 
it is really 100% Java-compatible it will be useful in research.

BTW, I am considering Jedit for the GUI side of my work. Eclipse is the 
alternative. Jedit looks so much simpler and cleaner. But, as I am sure 
you are painfully aware of, Eclipse has become just incredibly popular.
