It is on SourceForge.  However, it is indeed tightly controlled by the original
author. (Though I will say, "Great job Pat!")  I'm afraid that if it's growth
gets stagnant, something like Groovy (which has an accepted JSR) will win out,
even though I like BeanShell more...
