Let me add my vote to this side of the issue. I looked closely
at groovy and ended up using beanshell for my project specifically
because it was "java compatible" (mostly). I was very disappointed
that groovy didn't make it a requirement to be "java plus". They
are not and have no commitment to be Java compatible. I think its 
a mistake but lets not break the only real alternative - beanshell.
