If anyone is interested in playing with the javax.script API I've put up
a snapshot for you here:

http://beanshell.org/bsh-2.0b5.zip
http://beanshell.org/bsh-2.0b5-src.zip

This snapshot is compiled under Java 5.0, but that will be corrected
later (javax.script uses generics in its API).

The test file is BeanShell/engine/src/TestBshScriptEngine.java and it
should tell you that everything passes.

You'll need the javax.script API from sun (may be in the latest mustang
build) and I've included it in the source zip file: javaxscript.jar.

There is work to be done here... This implementation supports the full,
pluggable ScriptContext (pluggable namespaces as Maps, essentially).
However there is room for us to optimize the default script context for
BeanShell to perhaps make it more efficient in the common case.

Oh, and just to avoid any confusion, this is an implementation of the
JSR-223 javax.script API for BeanShell. This is a BSF-like API for
interacting with scripting languages from Java. This has nothing to do
with the upcoming JSR-274 effort to standardize BeanShell itself. And
you will of course continue to be able to use the regular BeanShell API
without this indirection.

thanks,
Pat
