Unfortunately svn won't work for what I need it for and I can't (easily) use
a fork or a different
version from 2.04b - I can upgrade later but I need to work with 2.0b4 for
the short term. We have a FOSS
software gate and build system where we bring in source archives (tar, gzip,
zip, etc) and do an
automated unarchive, patch, build, install and pkg up in Solaris IPS package
format for easy install
onto a Solaris system.

This is a high level view of the project:
http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Project+userland/

And here is the public source:
http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/userland/gate/

In the components subdirectory of that gate you can see all the components
and clicking on any
component each has it's local Makefile and our build system is setup to
download the source archive
and untar/uncompress it. I can find http locations for bsh-2.0b4-src but I
don't know that any of them
are 'official' by any stretch. We keep a local copy of the archive in order
not to hammer the download
site or to cover if the download site is offline...but I'd rather not change
& chase the download location
for beanshell if there is one official http/ftp gzip/zip location.

So we can't deal with svn or other version or source control systems and
instead we rely on a
tarred/compressed source archive or snapshot. I can't use a fork yet but
maybe I can change to
a fork of beanshell later as long as everything with it checks out.

Thanks,
Kevin.
