Maciej,

I find it works best if you pick something you're interested in to contri=
bute. If it's a big feature, you might want to open an issue on github to=
 discuss whether it's suitable for biojava. You can also pick one of the =
open issues to start with. We're always very happy for contributions=21

Hello Maciej,

I personally work on Biopython, but welcome all the same=21

The mailing lists are still live, but low volume. Your should also check =
GitHub:

https://github.com/biojava/biojava/

Specifically, there are currently a couple of issues marked =22Help Wante=
d=22,
and some marked =22task=22 might be suitable depending on your Java skill=
s=3F

Another suggestion is to work through the tutorial, and open issues on an=
y
problems you find. Keeping a large set of documentation up to date is a b=
ig
job - but also your fresh eyes will see things like hidden assumptions th=
at
the authors may miss. It will also help you getting familiar=C2=A0with th=
e scope
of BioJava.

Good luck,

Peter
