Dan Rollo commented on CC-1017:
-------------------------------
JIRA is not a tool for general support, only for managing patches and known bugs.
The first line of support in all cases is actually the user mailing list:
https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/cruisecontrol-user
I recommend you post your issues to the user (and maybe even the dev) mailing list. That might cause someone who has access to Perforce (I don't) to write and submit a patch.
> Some Perforce changes not fully reported in XML log file

> Key: CC-1017
> URL: http://jira.public.thoughtworks.org/browse/CC-1017
> Project: CruiseControl
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Core Application
> Affects Versions: 2.8.4
> Environment: Windows XP
> Reporter: David Baird
>
> I have several instances where a user submits a change to Perforce, and in the XML log file, under the <modification type="p4">, there are no <file> or <comment> tags. I verified that in Perforce, I can get a list of files changed for the changelist, and there is a detailed comment.
> The only difference I see with the changelist with missing <file> and <comment> tags and those that are reported fully is that the clientspec name is rather long and have a lot of dots (.) in the name. Without giving away any internal information, a changelist not properly reported has a client name of "cmxxxx.cr.987654.dev.X8765AABBCCDDE123456" while one that reports correctly has a client name of "smiley_CCCC_WW_8765.10.09.08".
> I can enclose a sample XML log file if requested, I just have to change around names to not reveal internal information.
