Uri Moszkowicz commented on CC-923:

I've also noticed this problem. I couldn't keep it open for more than a few hours on Linux/Firefox without my system becoming bogged down. Problem was fixed for me by moving to Chrome.

> Key: CC-923
> URL: http://jira.public.thoughtworks.org/browse/CC-923
> Project: CruiseControl
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Dashboard
> Affects Versions: 2.8.2
> Environment: Win XP Pro SP3, JDK 1.6.0_13, Firefox 3.0.0.10, IE 8 Final
> Reporter: David Corley
> Priority: Major
>
> We have the Dashboard webapp deployed on a Tomcat 6 server, that has Xmx128m
> The dashboard talks to the Cruisecontrol build daemon which runs on the same server as Tomcat.
> We're currently managing 109 projects in Cruisecontrol.
> CC_OPTS=-Xmx512m
> When we open the Dashboard in a browser on a remote machine we see the following behaviour:
> Firefox 3.0.0.10:
> The browser becomes unusable for a period of between 1-2 seconds. Hovering over something that is clickable (including the Firefox menu bars) does not change the icon to indicate you can click (Doesn't change from pointer to hand)
> This happens every 10 seconds or so. Close the Dashboard page and the problem disappears.
> IE8:
> Almost the same behavior except, content links in a seperate tab remain usable at all times (which makes sense give the multi-process nature of IE8 as distinct from Firefox single process). When the dashboard page is the select tab, the IE menu bars become periodically frozen.
> In both cases where the freezing occurs, the CPU usage for the IE or Firefox process ramps up to 25% (Quad Core Processor).
> I'm not sure if it's the large number of projects, or a dashboard bug or a combination of both, but it
