Any way to control when Cruisecontrol checks for updates to config.xml?

At the moment, we use a bootstrapper to grab the latest Cruisecontrol config.xml from source control before every build. >From the filesystem we can see that the updated config.xml is getting into the local filesystem, but Cruisecontrol only checks to see if this file has updated at seemingly random intervals. It would be useful to know when Cruisecontrol checks for changes to the config.xml it's using. It would also be useful if there was something like <configxmlbootstrapper> that allows the user to force CC to check for updates prior to each build. To sum up: 1. When does CC check for updates to the config.xml it's currently using? 2.
