Unless I'm misunderstanding the question I believe you can perform a
historical checkout. Maybe not from within the CC configuration but if
you're using a build tool you should be able to harness your vcs's ability
to check out from label/tag/revision or what ever the nomenclature may be.
You would have to build this task and update the label in the mbean to
reflect what label to pull.

I'm doing this on a current project and we use the mbean label when we
perform a build. Obviously this is all predicated on whether or not you're
labeling your code repository after/before each build.
