You are correct that I could do it outside of CC but the CC interface is
more convenient. There are some functional reasons as well. CC would
maintain the logs for the missing build and would update the status for
other builds. For example, the most recent build may have failed and the
list of commits leading to the failure could be quite large. It may turn out
that the previous and current failures are due to different bugs and once CC
finds that a missing build actually succeeds it could prune the list of
contributing commits of subsequent builds.
